A Poor Indian Girl Poem by Bijay Kant Dubey

A Poor Indian Girl

A poor girl living poorly
Has no cot to sleep on,
Sleeps on the muddy floor,
Has no food stock stored in,
Eats stale food almost,
Has no lamp to light at night,
Lives in utter darkness,
Her life starts in getting ready
To start work in the morning.

Now you say it to me,
What has the world given to her,
What has life
And what has it God?
A poor girl living poorly
Sleeping on the floor,
Eating stale food and leftovers,
Drinking somehow available water,
Living in darkness.
