A Princely Goodbye Poem by Deanna Samuels

A Princely Goodbye

April 17th 2021, a morning to remember
A morning to appreciate Prince Philip, now gone
His long-valued legacy will surely live on
The Queen's "strength and stay" for seventythree years
Triumphs and annus horribilis he guided her through
Although two steps behind, the steadying anchor
The United Kingdom has lost a loyal gem
Elizabeth chose well, her prince, her heart's dream
