A Princess On A Pond Poem by Dean Meredith

A Princess On A Pond

One spring day
A young princess
Sat upon a large lily
Floating on a pond
And while she dreamed
Her little bear sat next to her
His paw in the water
Hoping to touch a goldfish
Her dad the king
Nowhere to be seen
But from a small window
High in the castle
He looked on
Deep blue eyes
Full of love and tears
Down below
A family of frogs
Sunning themselves
On the steps
And waiting too
For her young prince
To show
