A Quiet Afternoon - Poem by Michael P. McParland

All I want is a quiet afternoon spent with you,
in your arms while we spend time
just feeling our bond fully reconnect and grow,
becoming even stronger than it's been before.
I just want a quiet afternoon with you my love
to just have you near and do something simple
hand in hand in each others arms.

I wish you were here with me to watch the game,
and if you didn't feel like that we would
find something else like reading to each other,
watching movies, or playing games both video
and board where there is a great choice.
Only for you my love would I miss Ohio State
and that's because my woman makes up
all the important parts of my time and life.

I just want a quiet afternoon with
my babe so truly bright and good.
Just be with you and look upon my Angel
I adore in every way there is,
just hold you close to say I've missed you dear
then place a soft kiss upon your lips
of true tender care and love.
I just want a quiet afternoon with you
because I want you here
and I love you more than anything there is.
