Knowing the truth the tides will wash it away
But it brings a smile on my face, for as long as it stays
Like holding on to something that will slip through my hands
I still write my name on the sand

I wish it could stay wonderful forever
Why is it not perfect?
All I want is my name out there
Will it hurt you?
You may be right, are you?
Right in saying that it isn't meant for staying

Now that my part is over
It’s your time to sweep it off
Off from my view
I will find something new
Yes, it might take a lot of courage
To tolerate my name being wiped off
It’s nothing but another page of the book being ripped off

I won’t blame you
That is what you were assigned
I just saw a reflection in you
Of my true self,
the one that is meant to be mine
