A Response Poem by Anne Onymous

A Response

With kind words
he stole my heart
and long before we talked
His empathy shone like a light
Shone bright where e'r we walked
His arms? no bind! but angels wings
With which my heart takes flight
And soars amongst the mountain tops
Thro sunrise' magic light
And when the moon send out its web
Its silver, ethereal trail
He'll see my body warm and soft
My soul without a veil

We met whilst crying out in pain
Our empty hearts so cold
The life within us torn apart
A story often told
With sparkling eyes he captured me
And warm and loving smile
I let this man into my life
Sought comfort for a while
I cry for him most every night
I know he cries for me
Time will tell, my handsome Prince
If you can set me free.
