A Sad Santa Claus Poem by U Win Kyi

A Sad Santa Claus

Oh! Santa Claus, Santa Claus,
people says you come from Pole of North.
Why are you wearing a thin T-shirt?
It is because there are melting icebergs,
causing the globe get warm,
so hot that a thick heavy coat can't be worn,
Why don't you ride a sledge driven by reindeers.
It is because the price of animal feed getting higher and higher.
Why don't you carry a bag,
full of gifts and presents?
It is because I was sacked.
The economy is in the red.
The recession is so bad.
I am feeling so sad.
The children are unhappy
as their stockings are empty.
I can no more laugh Ho, Ho, Ho, Hum, Hum, Hum.
I am in a mood so glum.
