A Small Scarlet Flower Poem by Ashley J. Farraway

A Small Scarlet Flower

The silence deafened,
the guns cried no more.
The 600 joined,
those who gave for the war.
Always we remember them,
at this time each year,
The thousands of heroes
that faced down their fear.
The honour they fought with,
each day, every hour,
commemorate now, with
a small scarlet flower.
Share a kind prayer,
for the men that we lost.
Think of the freedoms we have
and their cost.
