The Better Part Of Me

As The Script said at the concert we watched,

'The best part of me was always you.'

and long may it be that way since

the words they sang are so, so true.

Each day I wake with you I know

I'm loved. I see it in your face.

I see you when I close my eyes,

I cannot wait for next embrace.

And fifteen months, just fifteen months,

move slowly forward like the tide

upon the sand. My Thumper, my love,

will be no longer my girl.

You will wake to be my bride.

Hand upon hand, before God and all manner

of people we know and we knew.

I will look in your eyes, tear up,

and tell the world 'I Love You.'

I am where I am meant to be.

Your hand in mine. You next to me.
