A Smile For Her Poem by eathan Scala

A Smile For Her

Burning cold air is all I have to take in now
Laying there beside her breathless somehow
Thoughts of the murder sneaking into my head
As I’m smilng... For its laughable seeing her dead

My imperfect shaking hands now moving away
From her lifeless corpse..thinking…should I pray?
My anger fades racing against her fading heat…
As I rest my head on her bloody chest listening to the dimming beat.

Memories surging through my mind now lost and dry
Smiling at me from the inside …begging me to cry
Just to know my demon laughing…makes me cringe and scream
Just to hear its calling in the night wishing for it to be a dream

It’s all driving me to the moment of my crack
Tainted by her Serpent smell. Holding and bringing me back
To the place I find myself next to her… waking up from this dream
Banging inside the void of my soul…was the urge to scream
