A Storm Above The Waters Poem by maya maini

A Storm Above The Waters

To the naked eye,
it is but the sky.
Darkened with swelling clouds,
did i think it was on the cards?

Ah no?
is it also just the state of my mind?
Am i saying its a cliche of a great kind
I dont really think so!

The waters ebb furiously,
to come back and drown.
What little pride remains, curiously
and here I am down, down.

Strong, sturdy wooden playthings,
of men and pride.
Get shaken and finish the innings,
and I get battered and to the side!

That's what the stormy sea does,
shakes, moves and changes.
Like what has gone on in me, innocous
Silent, stalking, not for nothing am I writing my pages!
