A Stranger In Black Face Mask Poem by Phillip Nine Mafunga

A Stranger In Black Face Mask

I really want my mind to formulated something
An emotion or reaction, at least
The prophet is gone, just like that
Stalked all his life by a
A stranger in a typhoon- laden mask
Screaming death insults to all who've cared to listen

As the great Nyiragongo spew its fury into the path of the hapless
Inadvertently, religion is here spewing vile lies to deceive as always
I wish I had words with which to describe my thoughts
Maybe even thoughts to turn into words
As to how the beneficiaries of good heartedness become so callous
Celebrating the demise of the benefactor, who popularized the faith!
