A Strawberry Hill Poem by fraidoon warasta

A Strawberry Hill

when you expect:
the earth would receive kisses from the silver flakes,
what you love about them is their fluffiness

when you expect that
your pain and anxieties would
evaporate when a robin eloquently
pays a visit to your garden,
you should learn from saint francis not to preach
to other animals as they need no
right and wrong mind

you cannot deny
how inspiring
those hanging glittering stars are
in the canopy of christmas

i believe it's never too late,
there is enough space to learn:
keeping our hearts open and warm

above all
the geometry of winter is already exposed
and patiently i will wait,
till this leaden sky melts away and
the sun rises behind the strawberry hill
again...
