This brief lyric could be the introductory poem for the other poems I have read and critiqued last night and this morning. These poems capture moments of grace, holding them up to the light for a moment to better see their goodness - and the absence of shadows. The poems are delicate but not fragile. They seem sturdy enough to survive in a world that in a flash could reveal its other face - malignant, jealous, frustrated. But you wisely without that reality or portion of reality so that we can enjoy this sojourn in a kind of paradise on earth.
