A Stroll With God Poem by Holly Jamestone

A Stroll With God

I dreamt I saw the Lord one day
A meeting face to face
He held my hand and guided me
To a very special place

I saw refrains of times gone by
And flashbacks of our days
He held my hand and walked with me
Through sunsets, rain and haze

I asked him about Bethlehem
And Mary and her Child
He held my hand and walked with me
His presence calm and mild

I learned of days we can expect
For life's pain to subside
He held my hand and walked with me
Through townships far and wide

He let me glimpse a perfect world
A cry without a tear
He held my hand and showed to me
Calm minds that knew no fear

No longer would we contract AIDS
All cancers would arrest
He held my hand and walked with me
I felt so very blessed

The aged were then youthful
And diseases were no more
He held my hand and showed to me
All that we have in store

His message ever-present
I was then to pass along
He held my hand and walked with me
Our hearts both filled with song

We prayed the world would never change
From hearts of joy and peace
He held my hand and walked with me
Till sounds of war did cease

The Middle East was savoring
Its end to woe and strife
God held my hand as we looked back
At each year of my life

We built a fire and made a meal
And shared a toasting glass
He held my hand and walked with me
As dawn had come to pass

He told me not to fear the end
For it was the beginning
That death was merely part of life
Without the pain or sinning

I dreamt I saw the Lord one day
A meeting face to face
He held my hand and guided me
To a very special place
