Birthday Birthday Poem by Holly Jamestone

Birthday Birthday

Roses are red and
Though violets are not
Your candle-lined cake
The one that I bought

The one with the chocolate
The gleaming red berries
The sprinkles, the truffles
Between rows of cherries

The whipped cream, the ice cream
Balloons all around
The jugglers, the dancers
The flares on the ground

If in the off-chance
I ate all your cake
The one that I purchased
Pretending to bake

Please know it was tasty
I toasted your name
Inviting the neighbors
And all who hold fame

I saved you a picture
A glossy, to boot
Of bungee cord jumpers
The grand photo shoot

The clowns, the magicians
Merriment, bands
The President's photo
As Air Force One lands

The party, it seems, was
The best one all year
So sorry you missed it
Its fun birthday cheer

You know I'm just kidding
It's all tongue-in-cheek
I lovingly wish for you
All that you seek
