A Summer Finally Released Poem by Haiqing Hua

A Summer Finally Released

A summer finally released
Oliver Hua, May 24,2018, Toronto

The summer of this summer
It is a season
A season has been jailed for so long

It is the cold winter in North America
A winter is the torturer and jailer
And this lengthy extremity of coldness
It is the punishment torturing time

The summer of this summer
It has no initiation of spring
Nor it has the bustling of beautiful flowers

The escaping lives
They are accumulating the strength under the ice and snow
Almost in a blink of eyes
They have accomplished the mission of a season

Summer emerges
It emerges as silkworm breaking the sells
It flies as free as a butterfly

A summer finally released
The lives of mountains and fields have been released
They blossom as flowers
The grassland, pine forestry, murmuring streams, and home with bridge

A season has been jailed too long
Therefore, the freedom appears truly precious and valuable

A summer finally released
