A Sweet Bond Poem by Namita Rani Panda

A Sweet Bond

Me and my bro had a dissension,
know not I the exact reason
and why suddenly it gained momentum.
Me howled at him
and he volleyed at me his anger,
I said that I wasn't wrong
though I was wrong,
I blocked his Facebook
and WhatsApp mine he
But soon my ego evaporated
and with the mountain of pangs
my conscience said that
I committed a Himalayan blunder.
Realising that we could this way
continue no longer;
to break the ice I sent a message,
"Please unblock WhatsApp dear! "
and with no opposition
with no time he obeyed me,
perhaps he was also in tension.
A sorry card I sent to him
and he said, "I'm sorry. You can never be wrong."
The tempest is over, the sky is clear,
the bond is sweeter and stronger forever
And now though miles apart in distant land
we are closer to each other.
