A Truck Load Of Blues Poem by Carol Pelletier

A Truck Load Of Blues

I'm dumping my pain in the back of my truck
Taking it out for a cruise.
I'll be driving all night
Maybe all day.
My truck has an oversized load of the blues.

Pain has a way of wearing a mask
Sneaking around like a thief
Stealing life of its harmony
Wearing it down with a heart full of grief.

I'm dumping my pain in the back of my truck
Taking it out for a cruise.
I'll be driving all night
Maybe all day.
My truck has an oversized load of the blues.

If you hear some moans
On a lonely road
And wonder what caused the sound.
It's the pain I dumped
To clean out my truck
Howling for me like a homesick hound.

Leave me alone, I don't want you back.
Stay out there on the road.
I'm rid of you now and it feels so good
To be free of you
With your heavy load.

I'm happy again
Singing a song
There's a great big smile on my face.
My heart feels light, I'm ready to dance.
Good bye pain, you lost this race!
