A Turtles Feast Poem by Loren Angela Parkes

A Turtles Feast

Rating: 5.0

A Turtle was swimming in the ocean one day when he see's a tasty snack,
It's a jelly fish hovering above the ocean floor,
He goes in for the kill,
And within seconds the jellyfish is gone,
It only took him one bite,
Little did he know that the tasty snack has costed him, his life,
You see...
That Tasty snack wasn't a jelly fish at all,
He'd actually ate a 12 inch plastic carry bag,
And it's now damaging his organs inside,
Each plastic bag he consumes is giving him a 50/50 chance to survive,
Each plastic bag slowly suffocating him,
Unfortunately This Turtle didn't survive,
He died within the hour of his last plastic snack,
And hundreds and thousands more Turtles go through the same suffocation each day,
So please think next time when you throw your littler on the ground as 150 million tonnes of our plastic litter is already polluting our Oceans that's 150 million tonnes of plastic that's slowly suffocating our Turtles, Fish, Coral and Sea birds and one day it's going to be the death of us all too.
