A Version Of Love Poem by April Kremens

A Version Of Love

I needed

a hand to hold

and you held me

without question.

I leaned on you

you let me lean

I thank you

for the saving.

I needed eyes to look -

full of light and purpose

driven toward me

toward a light in myself

I no longer see.

So you looked at me

with a fire

with something like desire..

and melted-

just a little bit-

that dark old ice.

running water again

in the deep crevasse.
