A Voice For The Songs Poem by R K Summers

A Voice For The Songs

Between the teeth and over the tongue
Through the lips the words are sung
Bellowed up from stomach to lung
The choir is set and the violins strung

Tremulous or powerful the voices ring
An orchestra of passion, a beautiful thing
A ghostly chorus like a night in the spring
The music conjures such a desire to sing

Loud enough to bring down the walls
Like Sampson in the temple halls
Everything crumbles for my siren calls
Until this world around me falls
