A Voice From The Womb Poem by Marva Seaton

A Voice From The Womb

Rating: 5.0

Today I pray Dear Lord,
That you will hear me,
A voice from a place,
Where right now,
I am protected and safe,
In a few more hours,
I'll burst forth into a world,
Which from the whispering I hear,
Can be rather unkind and cruel.
Give me a mother and a father too,
Who to me and themselves,
Will be loving and true,
Give them love,
With which to nurture me,
Wisdom to guide me,
Strength to protect me
Patience to endure with me,
Knowledge to instruct me,
Trust to instill in me,
Faith to believe in me,
Resources to provide for me,
And I promise Dear Lord,
That I will be,
The very best,
Of what you want me to be!

By the time I got to the last wonderful line, I was smiling broadly! How lovely! Constance

This I like, having recently had the poem Sarah's Choice read out on the UK TV Channel, Revelation TV, hoping to promote pro life rather than abortion. The poem was based on the film Sarah's Choice shown on Revelation TV with details on the Internet Movie Database website, using a Google search. The poem is on poemhunter.com as well. In your poem, some would use You instead of you when referring to God and the word Dear would be dear instead. I like the way the poem flows, yet without rhymes, just prayer requests and ending with a personal promise...

Fantastic poem. Wonderfully conceived. I liked it for its remarkable imagery and decent style. Rated it 10. TFS..... Kindly read and rate my poem 'A humble complaint' on page 2. Regards Akmal
