A Walk Along A Cliff Poem by Ori Golan

A Walk Along A Cliff

Rating: 4.5

A walk along a cliff
That was your life
Life on the edge

A walk along a cliff
A jog into the abyss
That was your destiny.

A life of twists and turns
That spun out of control.
Be safe, we prayed
Be careful
And you kept jogging
On the edge of the cliff.

A walk along the cliff
The drop is long and steep
What now? And where? What if…
You kept walking in your sleep.

No cries for help were issued
You heeded no advice
We watched you terrified and anxious
You played and cast the dice
For each action a reaction
Each deed extracts a price.

A walk along the cliff
We feared and saw it all
You ran into the darkness
And we all watched you fall.

An insightful piece of poetry, well articulated and elegantly brought forth from the heart with conviction. Tragic and emotional poem. Thanks for sharing Ori.
