A Wanted Memory Poem by Saul Palti

A Wanted Memory

The walk of glee has set me free
never will I hide in a gutter
and watch from the worlds cellar
I will become whatever I want to be

once a tramp and a beggar
living of hand outs outstretched arm
pennies falling into my palm
rescuing my prostitute lover

I want to travel the whole world
yet modern war causes causation
the strong solders temptation
we have all fallen and swelled

life's clear path to civilisation
when its up to the civilians
not the law makers who are villains
crying out for a little bit of action
