A Wave. A Smile, A Nice Hello Poem by Donal Mahoney

A Wave. A Smile, A Nice Hello

Rating: 5.0

She was just an old lady
who lived next door.

I'd wave and smile
and give a nice hello

but nothing more.
Although she died

I see her still
in her backyard

feeding birds
and planting flowers

and I realize now
she deserved far more

than a wave, a smile
and a nice hello.

As usual from The Donal- a fine sentiment and a fine poem!
