A Wealthy Person's World Poem by Francis Duggan

A Wealthy Person's World

Few if indeed any billionaire
Of taxes pay their fair share
And it only does seem true to say
That when it comes to taxing them the government shy away
On the lower paid wage earners the government never relax
Always force them to pay higher tax
Far higher than they ought to pay
Nothing in this that consists of financial fair play
On the taxes of the middle to low wage earners most of the financial economy is built
Yet the government taxes them to the hilt
This is how it is and how it will always be
That the wealthy will pay their fair share of taxes i will not live to see
The words of a wise woman i recall
It is a wealthy person's world after all.
