A Wedding Vow Poem by Daya Nandan

A Wedding Vow

In god's light we stand as we humbly bow,
our eyes lock as i make to you this vow,
To live within the warmth of your heart and always call it home,
To catch you when you fall, my heart will never turn to stone,

I vow to keep our love strong through our hardships and pain,
To love you evermore, and if required make you fall in love with me many times again,
I vow to keep you safe in my loving and tender embrace,
I vow to never to marry another even with the passing of time and space,

I vow that in my heart that for you there will be a special place,
I vow that i cherish the beauty of your loving and gentle face,
I vow to always hold you with tenderness and to have the patience that love demands,
I vow to find you when you are lost even across the most deserted lands,

I vow to speak when words are needed and to share the silence when they are not,
I vow to love you with every drop of blood and with all the strength that i have got,
I vow to fiercely love you in all your forms, now and forever,
To hold your hand through the heaviest storm, walk with you through every endeavor,

I vow to love you, and no matter what challenges might carry us apart,
I vow that we will always find a way back to each others hearts,
I promise to never forget that this is a once in a lifetime love.
With our souls intertwined with the blessings of the gods above,

I vow to help you love life, to never leave you for another,
I promise to treat them well, your brothers, sisters, mother and father,
And from this moment on, no feelings from each other we shall hide,
For you will be my wife and i will always be by your side :)
