A Winter's Night Poem by Aathira Parakkkal

A Winter's Night

Rating: 5.0

A winter's night
In the desert of life,
Cold. Numbness. Death.

Living life,
For the sake of breath.
Deep inside,
A Frozen Heart
And a Dead Soul!

When the chillness lifts,
(If it ever will!)
The sight of a thing
Buried too long a while
Seed of Dreams
Forgotten to Sprout!

Sorrow's aftermath-
Stone-cold snow, Cloaking
Remnants of Death,
Hazy vision
And unfinished lines!

this poem has a strong overtone of the theme of death being poeticised, the imagery expresses teh theme very effectively, the title also tells the story of 'winter' and 'night', , both are symbols of death, thanx
