A Wise Man Poem by Edward Kofi Louis

A Wise Man

Streams of oil and rivers of honey,
Lakes of gold and oceans of diamonds,
Seas of cream and pond of love,
And like the poison of the serpents and the fangs of the vipers!
But the poor and forsaken are always around us,
And the heavens will reveal your love to me one day.
I have listened attentively to your sweet words but,
Will a wise man answer with empty knowledge?
And my lovely thoughts will teach you one day.
My love is inscribed in your books and you know your steps,
But will a wise man fill his belly with the wind? !
For i am still the one looking for your love all day long.
