A Wounded Soldier Poem by Itai Oscar

A Wounded Soldier

He lay in the ditch on his back
Groaning as the pain penetrated
His very core
The blast of the bomb had
shattered both his legs
By the help of the moonlight
He saw a shadowy figure approaching
And was relieved when he recognized
That it was a fellow soldier
A light of hope torched his soul

The soldier stood a few yards away
Took out a pistol and
Shot him right in between
His eyes
This is what the army of the lord
Is doing
Killing their wounded
Many are dead in the ditches of life
What happened to phileo?
