A Year That Was Poem by ER Bron Chiong, RSW

A year ago, today
I wrote my poem at this site
and never expected
that this will be for a year
of creativeness and genuineness

As I start my second year
I'm grateful to God above
and people who encourage me
to hone my God-given craft
as the days go by

That was a year indeed
I learn so much—
with 3 deactivated poems
and 111 other poems
shared and made my day

In Chavacano de Zamboanga
My mother tongue I grew up with
and in English, the second language
used in schools and businesses
of today's global community

Time flies so fast
and life is too short
to waste and haste
do the most of it
in a year that was!
