Abortions Kill Babies Dead! Poem by Ramona Thompson

Abortions Kill Babies Dead!

Rating: 3.0

Say what you want
Do what you want
Call it whatever the hell you want
In the end
It's all the same
Bleeding
Crying on the floor
There will be the responsibility you did't want
The child you were too damn selfish to love

No time
No room in your oh so self absorbed life
Not for anything or anyone but you
Your needs
Your desires
That's all that really matters
Just can't risk that career or that life in the fast lane
Just can't miss out on another night of partying and gettin' high
Gettin' high and gettin' laid by another nameless, faceless stranger at the local club

Ms. High and Mighty
Ms. Too Good To Ever Be
Just another in a long line of working mothers
Breaking their backs
Day in and day out
While all you do is sit there all day on your fat a....
Moaning and groaning about poor little you
Knocked up again with a choice you pretend you really don't wanna make
When we all know that you really love being the center of this much attention

Went too far
Got pregnant just to be in the spotlight
The spotlight of the world's attention
Asking
Will you or won't you?
Your body
But hell no, it should't be your choice
When you're no God
You're only human
Only flesh, blood and bone

Flesh, blood and bone that I pray remembers
Next time
Before it's too late and you can't go back from the choices that you make
These 4 simple little words.....

ABORTIONS KILL BABIES DEAD!

I like poems with a little structure - like a drum beat? But share your sentiment and frustrations. Thanks. The discussion is far from over and settled, with a societal issue as parents murdering their own offspring.

i find it fascinating that a man would claim to know so much about abortion. It's trite that you let your own personal feelings about the subject at hand become political and a moral issue. It's an issue for women.

Although I absolutely and whole heartedly disagree with your position on this matter, everyone has a right to believe what they believe and certainly a right to write about it. But, should you ask yourself the following 'what if' questions first. You will receive MUCH flack for this poem, be ready. 1. What if your daughter (hypothetical or not) got raped by a lunatic with HIV 2. What if you yourself got pregnant at age 13. 3. What if someone in your own family sexually abused you. There are so many what if questions. I'm not trying to change your mind, I wouldn't dare do that, but shouldn't we always look at both sides of the coin? Never judge a person until you've walked two moons in their moccasins. (that's actually the title of a children's book I just read) . Just food for thought. Powerfully fueled poem. Ashley
