Abu Ghraib In Mosul Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Abu Ghraib In Mosul

Abu Ghraib in Mosul

Downloading your pictures
-I smile but bitter
-a cigar in your mouth
-your rank is captain
-around you many with
-angled bars on their arms
-and the room for command
-several are laptops
-feel seeing the planes
-flags are private fly for CIA
-take people to the cells
-in the world scattered
-and tortures
-many die, some survive
-and become the ISIS
-sorrow is of the hate
-you carry in secret
-I recall the Westerns with John Wayne
-books I read and the words I have heard
-the Negro and Nigger, Red skin and Savage
-they train you with this…am afraid
-soon will come same message
-Go back Home you Faithless and dirty
-Vampire…the Yankee

Hey soldiers…brothers and sister
-I have been like you and
-I have been in wars and
-I carried live soldiers
-returned them when murdered
-they were soaked in blood
-splashed their brains and the hearts
-what was left was the hate
-I could hear the victims
-raising hands to the God
-and sewing the seed of…

Wish I did have brakes
-could drive, reach, stop
-the shedding of blood…
-and crimes of Trump…
