Abuse Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Abuse

Abuse

When still in Iran
final years of late Shah
corruptions at its peak, very high
papers wrote of news:
"Ships in them sugar, milk, "
purchased by government
"diverted and got lost."

Language has it all
our culture, our learning
'followers will shit if,
the leader farts when prays.'

This is us…Aryans of Iran…
another example is Nader
(The famous Nader Shah)
next to him fought old man
fearless with his mace,
attacked, killed in numbers.

Nader asked:
"Where were you in old days…? "
"I was here; did not have a Nader."
old answered.

This is us
we, people of Iran
we mimic, duplicate or copy
we are parrots and monkeys.
corruption is the same
big takes big, we small.
one day an ambulance
(took its share)
siren on did its part
hot kebab to office
not injured.

Seeing two young girls in
Toronto, cross road King and John
abusing ambulance with siren
took me right to Tehran…
