Accepting Fate Unknown Poem by JAMES T. ADAIR

Accepting Fate Unknown

I am on my way somewhere new and unknown
I have lived and died
I have struggled and have beaten the odds
And have survived and at times flourished
I have loved

I have lost everything that mattered
I have seen my brightest dreams burn and crumble
I have faced my worst fears
I have faced death and have found God
I have cried

I have faced evil
And have the courage to not dropp my gaze
I have lent my hand and heart to good souls
and when I lost my faith in people
I have seen beauty

In emptiness
I struggle with lonliness
I have felt abandonment
disrespect and insincerity
I trod on

I have skied down the steepest slopes
I have ridden faster than the wind
I have run until breathless
I have skated across frozen lakes of ice
For sheer joy

I walk on unknown paths
that have led nowhere
meeting kind hearts along the way
and taking time to breath in their spirits
I have given of myslef

In the end it all means nothing
faced with this I cry
despondent with lonliness
surrounded by emptiness
I dry my tears

I am a heart in motion
a rich spirit
a force of nature
gifted
I am solitary

Knowing only heartache
I give only love
Knowing falsity is the norm
I give only sincerity
but I walk away

Paths unknown await me
In humility I wait for my second chance
I let go of hatred
I accept pain instead of struggle against it
I pray

Out of depths of dispair
I seek tranquility and purity
in dismal quarters I await sunshine
out of nothing I am born again
A single heart

Until our hearts ever touch
no meaning without you
