Across The Street 2 Poem by Jeanette Telusma

Across The Street 2

Rating: 5.0

Across the street lived and old lady
That I enjoyed spending time in her presence.
She was witty and pleasant.
She was kind and very wise.
There was never a Sunday
That went by without
Her coming to pick me up to go to church.
Oh how I am thankful for this precious soul.
I don't recall ever meeting a member of her family.
She to me was as a second mother.
The other day I asked my mom for her.
Mom told me she had passed on to glory.
I believe that she is an angel above
As she was here on earth to me and others she meet.
Thank God for angels that live amongst us.
We know them by their daily deeds.
They will forever be remembered even
When they've passed on.
