Adaku Poem by Heaven Kalu

Adaku

Adaku
Amongst the lilies in the crooked valley
And the roses amidst the envy thorns
You pride yourself as a masterpiece
Pulchritudinously endowed
Leaving lads wooing prowess decrepitude
While they contend with their flaws
Yet wrestle to be noticed by you

Adaku
A paragon of flawless beauty
An epitome of wealth between hamlets
Your name is a reflection of the eminence
And the significance of every first daughter
Your charm leaves your beholders drowning
In their pot of fantasies like the stock fish
In my mother's Oha Soup in Ohafia my hometown

Adaku
Your eyes are lavishly contagious
Your body is generously curvaceous
Your voice is so mellifluous
Your company ignites warmth cravings
Your behavior speaks like the Indian Sari
And your charisma holds breath captive

Adaku
Your acerbic and witty smile
Sparks up colors of anticipation
Can cause the Devil his lunch no doubt
Your indulgence glows like the sunrise
Lighting up smiles for the future
Even though the day does not unfold
What tomorrow will become.

Adaku! Asa Nwa...
