Adaobi Poem by Abubakar Abdulkadir

Adaobi

Dawn sprawls softly on your eyelashes
Adaobi of immeasureable beauty
Your desire trees in me like Africa
In the heart of Nelson Mandela

Sweetie Sweetie Adaobi
A peacock jewelled in orbs of glories
Your smile soothes like chill water
Massaging the throat of a worn farer

Your eyes are snapshots of paradise
I suppose taken in the morning
So blink though gently gently Adaobi
Else i may loose my connection
To the satelite serving sanity

Listen Adaobi
It is for us
That the birds heighten their melodies
Lets loafe in love into the lawn
And relish the rendition of our eulogies

Come with me Adaobi
Let me cherish the flames of your womanhood
