Addiction Poem by Koree Cameron

Addiction

Rating: 3.8

I feel obliged to sit in my silence,
To structure the images of today
Subconsciously I disregard you,
Thinking you're out of my way.
I say all things in innocence though,
So don't believe what you feel
I simply mean that I became first,
In my world where I fight off the real.
And this is the space I really deserve,
From bracing all pain in my sin
Once I found the equivalent to hurt
I dwelt in the cave it was in.
But you came around and melted my cave,
You saved me from further affliction
Though damage is done and scars are seen
I'm thankful that you're my addiction.
