Adding Zeros Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Adding Zeros

Adding Zeros

A myth is about worms:
"Will be two and alive
After you cut, divide."

With not much left of life
I wish I was a worm
Able to divide and subdivide.

If so, each of the worms
Would have own ears, eyes
And movements, and the mouth
And I would be too many;
Not simple single one.

One of me would sit watch
All the scenes of clouds
Another could listen
To concerts, recitals,
One would be narrator
Or writer, speaker
With people, preaching
Or pray to the God in hiding.

And…
And…
And…

I wonder how many
I must have for my needs
To fulfil all the deeds!

Oh, must be plenty
Thanks to ways that I think
Of the lovely beings…

Since I am generous
I play with figures
And add up to zeros
On right side of numbers
Ten zeros, hundreds…
And still not enough!
