Your message caused an irreparable harm
to my despondent and cleft heart and mind.
If you'd spared those harsh words, it would be a balm
to my injured self which needed words so kind.

Your quiet words weighing with affection
have become lies to vex this harmless man.
I want to go away from you in dejection
but commitments keep me here under a ban.

So far in life, vainglorious dames with guiles
were lucky to be adored in poems a few.
But you with the worst mind and bursting smiles
ran my heart riot for some worthy poems to brew.

You entrap the men with your tantalizing smiles
and pull them back from traversing versaic miles and miles.
