Adornments Poem by Jayne Doe

Adornments

Rating: 5.0

I adore
These roseless thorns
That never leave
My Side

I adore
These cloudy skies
That always bring
A storm

I adore
These fading leaves
Crumpling
Under feet

I adore
These strangers
That I never have
To meet

I adore them
And they adorn me
Always coming back
Each time I set them free

Tried to walk away
I did it for a day
But then they took my hand
And said they understand
Promised that they'd stay
And with my heart they play

I adore
The songless bird
That flies
Without a sound

I adore
The crashing waves
That never touch
The ground

I adore
The growing trees
That never reach
The sky

I adore
These hollow words
That never leave
Our sides

I adore them
And they adorn me
Always coming back
Each time I set them free

Tried to walk away
I did it for a day
But then they took my hand
And said they understand
Promised that they'd stay
And with my heart they play
