Lost Poem by Jayne Doe

Lost

Rating: 5.0

It starts on the inside,
A soft little tug...

Next thing you know
you're enveloped
in an inescapable embrace
with stifled insides
buried deep
as you struggle
you struggle
you struggle to breathe.

And the strangers pass by
with wry little smiles
and laughter that sings
while you sit there and cry
and no one can see
through your pained little lies
as you answer them all
that you're doing just fine
and despite what they see
they buy and believe
tale
after tale
after tale.

Soon there's nothing left to stifle
for what's left of you is gone
and you don't even realize
that something right went wrong.
