You did not live a day
Without food on the table and a roof over your head
You did not lack for medical care
Your teeth grew straight
And you disrespected me for it
I provided you education
And you disregarded it in favor of ignorance
I introduced you to the arts and music
And you spit on it
I took you into the mountains to show you nature
And you refused to see and complained about sleeping in a tent
I filled your life with intelligent people
And you chose fools instead
I demonstrated integrity and character
And you sold out to the highest bidder
I gave you all I had
And you stole the rest
Kindness has eluded you
Preferring meanness
I never left you
And you abandoned me
To please the pretenders
So live your nasty, petty little lives
As best you can
Because you will know nasty in return
Karma knows where you live
And you have a debt to pay

An insightful piece of poetry written with clarity of thought and mind. Brave utterances set aside for sober reflection. Thanks for sharing Sharon.
