Advice For Success In Life (Lamp-Lighting Ceremony) Poem by Dr John Celes

Advice For Success In Life (Lamp-Lighting Ceremony)

'The lamps are lit,
And you are fit
To serve the sick
And suffering! '

Life isn't all roses, thorns!
The blend is important;
And it depends on you
To make the proper mix.

Hard work will not suffice
For success in this world;
Some luck and pluck matter;
God's grace alone decides.

Respect the aged and wise;
Take the good from advice;
There's no time for mistakes,
To learn being perfect.

Be slow but be steady;
Haste makes everything wrong;
Keep level-headed always;
All need not reach life's peak!

Contentedness is prime;
Joy is what mind perceives;
Achieve limelight God-willed;
Don't feel for things undone.

Life's journey all embark;
You can't run all the time;
Some rest at times is good,
For health is our dear wealth.

Man's strength will not suffice;
God's grace is paramount;
Self-confidence and toil
With faith in God will win.
