Pieces of advice I would like to instill in my son
Before my life on earth is finished and all done,
First piece of advice that it must be
I have made many, many mistakes, so please listen to me.
Never ever spit into the wind
Because, you will know not where the spit might end,
And whenever the wind might pick up and blow
It might then end up on you, or a friend, or even a foe.
Remember, if you ever go to a farm
Look before you step, so you do no harm,
And if you have any-type of common sense
Never ever touch to test out an electric fence.
Remember also, if you have a female in your house
Whether it's your daughter, sister, girlfriend or spouse,
Never leave the bathroom with a frown
And always, always leave the toilet seat down.
Never borrow money from a friend or family
Because, that usually brings grief and calamity,
But, if you do borrow please always remember this
When bills come due, put them on top of your list.
Always be honest and very respectful and kind
Never be mean and judgmental, true goodness you must find,
It's a lot easier to be forgiving and to be nice
Than to be mean and hateful, please, please take my advice.
Go to church and always read the Bible everyday
And to God always worship and pray,
And always follow the teachings of our Lord Jesus
And remember whoever we are he loves each and everyone of us.
Don't ever stop singing and dancing
Even though others might laugh and call it screaming and prancing,
Dance to the music that only you hear
It will bring your soul clarity, and also cheer.
Learn to cook and clean and wash your stinky clothes
Don't offend your friends or a stranger's nose,
And keep your soul clean also as well
So, that you don't ever end up in the pits of hell.
Don't ever be a racist or a bigot or a bully
Don't ever be gossiper, reckless, lawless, violent or unruly,
Remember everyone has the right to live
And everyone should always help the poor and needy and give.
Remember this, don't ever become your work
Don't bring it home with anger and grief and a smirk,
Leave it at the end of the day when you leave your job
Then you or your family members, won't cry or sob.
Remember, be a good and a righteous guy
Be a joy in everyone's eye,
Never stop giving out kisses and/ or your hugs
They are so much better than curses, insults and shrugs.
Remember this one other fact which is obvious and true
Remember this, no one is ever better than you,
And remember this message only for yourself
You are better than no one else.
The last two pieces of advice I need to give
So, a happier and longer life you can live,
A woman never does the marriage proposal
And a dishwasher, is also not a garbage disposal.
