she is afraid to walk
upon the bridge fearing
she might fall off
onto the underpass below
she is afraid to comb her hair fearing
that it might all fall out
she is afraid of going to
the grocery store fearing
she might get robbed on the way
she is afraid to drive
her car fearing
she might get in a serious accident
she is afraid to fall
in love fearing
her heart might get broken
she is afraid of the darkness
and she is afraid of the light
and she is afraid of living
life
because she is afraid of life
