African Kids Poem by Kinyua Karanja

African Kids

They teach it to us about origin of humanity
Through their theories, arguments and stand
Though some deem this to be a gross profanity
We surmise Africa to be the sole motherland
The dawn of first living being and human kind

Africa, the land exploited by every race
Now need you to look upon her untold kids
She can't bear to see that dry torn face
Grieving hearts and half shut wet eyelids
Of her child scorching under Saharan sun

She can't hold her tears when she sees
Piles of carcasses of her own children
These blood filled rivers, lakes and seas
Drives her sick and now her justice hidden
By the selfish alien military interventions

She hopes one day sun will set for her kids
Then reality will struck these policy makers
Every soul of good faith will shout the bids
To challenge everything and be game changers
And these African kids will be happy after.
