African Strong Woman Poem by Oloyede Fareedah

African Strong Woman

Rating: 3.3

The love in her heart that keeps the world so warm
The pain in that hand in which she holds her child
The eyes that she looks through, it's oh so mild
She's a woman of no other form,
She's an African strong woman..

Those lashes that fought back threatening tears
Those brows that creased due to pain and hunger
With every pain, she had learned to grow stronger
She's a woman with no fears,
She's an African strong woman..

Those lips suffered from cracks all her life
Still, she never hesitated to kiss her baby each night
That nose breaths stale air and she hadn't felt right
She was denied to being a wife
She's an African strong woman..

That woman staring on in that portrait...
A true definition of an African strong woman
A cheerful and impeccable human
Strongly bonded with that African trait
She's an African strong woman..

Fareedah, I think poetry comes to you naturally. This piece is a mesmerizer. It clearly depicts the struggle of a typical African woman and it is quite loaded with poetic devices. Please write more.
